A Community of Priests - Connectors & Conduits

Jesus encouraged His followers to pray, “Let your kingdom come, let your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” The question we might ask is, “How then might God’s Kingdom (of heaven) come on earth as it is in heaven?”

When Jesus walked the earth He was the literal embodiment of the kingdom – this is why the kingdom was ‘at hand.’ He incarnated the kingdom, with it’s values and power, everywhere He went. Jesus is our High Priest.

God’s salvation plan included the outworking of His redemptive purposes through the church of Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament it was the nation of Israel who were called to b God’s priests (or representatives). In the New Testament this is expanded to the Christian Gentile communities. We are a Royal Priesthood who belong to God. We are His representatives – or priests, or ambassadors. To exercise such a role we must be connected both in heaven and on earth.

Steve introduced the series "Connectors and Conduits" on Sunday 4th July 2010. This talk and others in the series can be found below:
Connectors & Conduits - Connecting In the Workplace

In the last in this series Stuart Mitchell looks at witnessing in the workplace? Some of us may get hung up about how little opportunity there seems to be. But maybe the important thing is to live the life and walk the walk - and be ready for the opportunities – just like Daniel. When they do come they could be life changing for someone, or even changing the heart of kings, or leaders, or bosses or managers or colleagues or people who work for you.
