Marriage in the News

Marriage

The Royal Wedding put marriage firmly back in the news. A captivating and emotional day caught the imagination and hopes of the nation and temporarily re-directed our concerns and attentions away from our economic woes.

This wedding was special because all the ingredients were there. Not only was this Diana’s Son, William marrying his beautiful bride but the genuine love and affection William and Catherine have for each other was clear to see.

It seems as if some good preparation was done ahead of the day. A Royal Wedding naturally means very careful planning for the events of the day itself but the important marital planning also seems to have been done. Any couple who take the time to write a prayer asking for God’s help in their marriage and future life together must be taking things seriously.

As a church we know marriage and family life are the main building block of successful community. It’s why we invest time in helping couples before and during marriage. We also direct help towards those who have dealt with the pain of divorce.
