The Arts Collective Update
According to Wikipedia:
|
Artist collectives are significant to the artist's practice in part because of the increased collective intelligence made possible by the cross-combination of multiple creative minds and disciplines, the cross-fertilization of ideas and approaches and also due to the social richness and networking capacities involved.

It is now a month since the first Arts Collective event at Costa Coffee in Woodley on Saturday 6th March. To read more about the first gathering of The Arts Collective in March select the following link; Arts Collective
It was a great couple of hours with friends re-connecting as well as meeting new people. As well as time to chat informally, we listened as a big group to a number of contributions - some prepared and others more spontaneous. A couple of people brought instruments and played, others brought art they had created, and a number of people told something of their story. The time went very quickly - in fact one person who came has offered to host a half day with food so that there is longer to be together. Please let me know if you would be interested in that.
Our next event is set for the 8th May, 2010; again at Costa Coffee, Woodley. Please feel free to come along, bring some friends and enjoy the experience.
