“Breaking through the Barriers”

I have a real sense of God wanting to breakthrough some barriers in a major way
specially after the free worship and prayer time in our band practice last
night. I chatted to Kevin about it. He said that for a long time God has been
showing him through his prayer time, that what we lack as individuals and as a
body is Child like faith.

When our kids ask or come to us with a pain or hurt, they expect us to make it
better, and we do, to the best of our ability, always bring some comfort.
However, when we as adults go to God, we dont seem to connect in the same way,
our religion, expectations and disappointments get in the way. We go with no
expectation so that we are not disappointed or hurt again when it doesn't happen.
We build a safety net and in doing so, we hinder any work God wants to do in us.

Maybe the time has come to remind ourselves that we have a great God and that He

is all powerful, He is the God of all comfort, He is our Father and wants good things for us.

We need to start, in a sense, renewing our minds individually and as a body so
that we can allow God to work, to allow Him to move in ways we have never seen
before. I have a sense that even if we just go with a mustard seed faith, these
things will start happening and God will start moving in ways we would have never imagined.

I had a dream about 18 months ago. there was a big stage that the worship band was on. a guy was playing some impressive guitar. in the middle of the "set" he change guitar and carried on playing.

Then there was a child on ground level. The Child started singing a simple song. Beatiful, Isn't He. You know the song by John Wimber. that talks about Jesus being a councellor and a mighty God.

What God was saying though this dream was that we don't have to impress Him, but to come to Him as a child in our worship to Him. Who know's what will happen when we do that.

I think He's been trying to get this message through for quite a while. As adults, perhaps we think that we need only bring those things to God that we can't do ourselves ie 'the impossible'. But Bill said aThe Globe "if it's important to us, then it's important to God". Our kids tell us how their days have gone, they ask us for help or for guidance and we are delighted to give it (most of the time!). Well God is our Father and He's delighted to share and give to us all the time. I guess many of us (and I definitely include myself!)keep getting stuck in the wilderness, like the Israelites with Moses, get disheartened, and don't quite trust our Heavenly Father enough? I'm rather sympathetic with the Israelites; I guess God knows that and still loves and likes me.

Well done Palmi! As well as this being a really encouraging and excellent word, it's great you are launching out - a great example to us all! Lovely!
