Commission and Vision
Our Commission - "Loving God, Loving our Neighbour"
We respond to Jesus’ Great Commission to His Church by our commitment to be a community of people who love God wholeheartedly, whilst making His love tangible to our neighbours and those we serve and care for locally and further afield. We partner together with other organisations who share similar aims and concerns and we share a common purpose with our friends across the Reading Christian Network (RCN) to see our area transformed by the life, love and power of Jesus Christ.
Our Dream of a Church expresses the heart of who we aspire to be and embraces the values that are important to us. That vision becomes a reality when we:-
- Celebrate and appreciate God as our Father
- Love God intimately through every aspect of our lives
- Experience God through His Word, the Bible
- Enable our neighbours and friends to encounter God’s love in relevant ways
- Express our thanks to Jesus for His sacrifice and rescue of us
- Look for and live for God’s Kingdom in everyday things and places
- Know the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and to be led by Him each day
During 2009:
- We will celebrate 25 years of Brookside Church
- We are asking the Holy Spirit to help realign our lives to biblical, kingdom principles
- We intend to recruit a Mission Communities Leader and establish our first Mission Communities
