JAC (Just Around the Corner)

JAC is a local charity that we link up with in all kinds of ways. JAC works with young people and families all over East Reading and Wokingham, helping them through difficulties and encouraging them to make positive choices. We have a Friday evening JAC detached youth team that spends time with groups of young people at various locations around Lower Earley. We also go out every Wednesday afternoon in Lower Earley, furthering this work with families and children. The youth team helps resource various other detached sessions throughout the week, including football and cricket teams and sessions. The JAC team is made up of people from several churches in the area, working under the banner of JAC, as well as partnering with the local council youth service. The team has been doing this for over 7 years and has built up some strong relationships with young people around the area. This process of relationship building is key to building up trust and respect. This enables us to get alongside young people in the community, helping them chat through difficulties they face, and ultimately showing Jesus in a relevant way.
